Stage 302 Step Up Transformer |

Eminent – an epoch-making MC cartridge developed by My Sonic Lab offers an unparallel 1.8 ohm low internal impedance. To maximize the high output energy under these extremely low impedance conditions, MC transformer of low internal loss plays a major effective role which has been common knowledge to MC designers and engineers.
Amplification or step-up ratio would not be a problem for normal low impedance MC transformer or quality head amp (pre, pre-amp), but the Eminent MC cartridge featuring low internal impedance will ideally match a low-loss MC transformer of the same concept. |

My Sonic Lab offers “Stage 302”, which is the matching transformer for The Eminent low impedance MC cartridge. The Stage 302 uses unusually thicker wires to MC transformers of F0.55mm primary side, F0.18mm at the secondary. This required a larger core to provide wider winding space. However, larger core meant longer magnetic paths, which causes ferrite loss inevitably deteriorating response speed to weak signals. To overcome this problem, magnetic characteristics of the core had to be improved. |

A high-µ core material named “ PC-SX “, initial permeability of 6.5 times more the conventional JIS PC material, high saturation flux density of over 1.5 times was developed.
This exclusive core avoids response speed deterioration and insures low distortion reproduction with accurate phase characteristics and rich dynamics. |
